Zeolite Production — Ung Ar Rustom

Natural zeolite is an industrial mineral used in agriculture, horticulture, water treatment, animal nutrition and construction materials. Its porous structure holds water and nutrients and captures ammonium and other ions.

NAMC’s zeolite project is at Ung Ar Rustom in Tulul Ash Shahba’, Ruweishid, about 45 km east of As Safawi in Al Mafraq Governorate. Exploration completed in 2026 defined an Indicated Mineral Resource under the JORC Code (2012). It totals about 1.32 million tonnes in situ, with an average total zeolite content of 29.34%. The main zeolite minerals are phillipsite, chabazite and faujasite.

The deposit is at or near the surface with little overburden, so it suits a simple surface mine. The preliminary mine plan schedules about 42,000 tonnes per year over a 25-year life.

The project is at feasibility stage. NAMC plans a phased development that starts with screened, graded products for agriculture and horticulture and moves to finer ground products as markets are qualified. It forms part of NAMC’s non-metallic minerals portfolio.
