NAMC CEO in Interview with Al Mamlaka TV Highlights the Role of Mining in Jordan’s Economic Modernisation
July 31, 2025
The National Arab Mining Company and Downstream Industries (NAMC) has announced the signing of a drilling contract with Misbar Al-Ordon Drilling Company, valued at JOD 62,000, to commence the first phase of exploratory drilling for copper in the Ghor Fifa region. The contract was awarded following a competitive tender that attracted four local and international bidders.
This decision follows preliminary results from surface sample analyses conducted at the international laboratories of AGRETEST under the supervision of geological consultant MINEXPERTS. The results indicated promising initial signs of copper mineralisation.
Based on these findings, NAMC will proceed with a drilling program consisting of six test boreholes, each reaching depths of up to 60 meters. The boreholes are strategically located within the area covered by the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Request for Proposal (RFP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) were developed in collaboration with MINEXPERTS, following global best practices.
