Objectives
Establish and lead NAMIC’s technical authority and capital-projects function to design, tender, build, commission, ramp-up, and hand-over industrial plants across the portfolio. Act as owner’s representative; ensure safety, quality, schedule, budget, operability, maintainability, and full permit compliance.
Roles, Responsibilities & Authorities
1. Strategic Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision and project governance framework to ensure long-term operational excellence.
- Lead the stage-gate process (Concept, Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility Studies) ensuring robust risk assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, RAM).
- Establish technical standards, digital/automation strategies, and innovation adoption (digital twins, modular plants, low-carbon technologies).
- Translate market and commercial trends into project design and technical specifications.
- Provide technical due diligence for investment decisions and support financing and offtake agreements.
2. Executive Responsibilities
- Oversee the project delivery lifecycle: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and ramp-up.
- Approve technical tender packages, contracts, and performance guarantees.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and construction permits.
- Direct the integration of operational technology (OT) and IT cybersecurity within industrial plants.
- Chair internal technical reviews and gate approvals prior to board or committee decisions.
- Represent the company with regulators, certification bodies, lenders, insurers, and external stakeholders.

- Oversee contractors, EPC/EPCM firms, OEMs, and suppliers—ensuring contract compliance, safety, and performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely project reporting, including cost, schedule, and risk dashboards.

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical/electrical engineering or related (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven leadership of EPC/EPCM projects; strong project-controls and contracts literacy.
Professional Licenses
- PMP – Project Management Professional – Must
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) / Professional Engineer (PE) – Must
- Certified Project Director (CPD) – IPMA or AIPM – Preferable
- ISO Lead Auditor (9001 / 14001 / 45001) – Preferable
Experience
- 15+ years delivering industrial projects, including successful implementation of greenfield industrial projects and plants from design to handover.
